A memorial for someone's brother, husband, dad, grandfather, maybe all of those things? This was secreted under a bolder overlooking a beautiful clearing full of grazing elk.

The Stanley Hotel

Stephen King apparently stayed here and was inspired to write The Shining, a movie which pretty much scared the hell out of me. The Stanley is allegedly haunted. You can learn more about this place here.

Mount Evans

Mount Evans is the peak on the right. It is one of 53 14ers (14,000 foot+) peaks in Colorado. Click here for a list of them.  This will be the first one my wife and I will do this season. We hope to be able to do all of them in the next few years. She is already one ahead of me! She did Quandary Peak a while back.

Scaring the Trout
